Set Phasers To Sleep ...

So ... I've divided up my house project into phases ... so that I don't get overwhelmed with the fact I'll never get all this stuff done before I die of old age.

Phase 1 - Done!  Everything downstairs is suitable for guests ... well, other than a TV for the living room ... I'm shopping for that next week.   Don't get me wrong ... there is still a LOT of little things that needs to be done ... a lot of cleaning left to do!   But I'm to the point now that I wouldn't mind having company!

Phase 2 - Deeper stuff that has to be done ... but can happen behind the scenes.  I need to empty the cleaning closet of all the junk that's in it ... empty the microwave cart ... strip the third bedroom upstairs ... clean the basement.  All this stuff is is a lot of work ... but it doesn't interfere with everyday living ... or having company over.

Phase 3 - The big stuff ... ugh.  Some of these things are going to take a lot of work ... other things are going to take money.  That wall in the foyer needs spackled ... and Mom offered to help with that.  I need to paint all the walls.  I also need to call a plumber about the kitchen sink ... and a roofer about putting back on a couple shingles ... and I wouldn't mind having new concrete steps poured for the front porch.

It doesn't matter ... it's all good!  Finishing Phase 1 has really cheered me up!  I feel like I've accomplished something even if I have a long way to go.   Next week ... on to Phase 2!  But for now ... I just need a little sleep ...

I don't want to work
I want to bang on the drum all day
I don't want to play
I just want to bang on the drum all day
