Dan Fogelberg, the singer and songwriter whose hits "Leader of the Band" and "Same Old Lang Syne" helped define the soft-rock era, died Sunday at his home in Maine after battling prostate cancer. He was 56.Fifty-six is way too young to go. I liked Dan Fogelberg's music. Sure, he was known for his soft-rock hits. But he also sang "Times Like These" on the Urban Cowboy soundtrack ... and that kinda rocked ... in a soft way. Plus I really liked "High Country Snows" ... although I suspect I was one of the few. People don't tend to follow when their favorite artists go in a completely new direction.
Rest in peace, Dan ...
Now your soul is in trouble
And requires repairs
And the voices you hear at the
Top of the stairs
Are only echoes of unanswered prayers
Echoes of unanswered prayers.
