In addition, Mr. Burris is the third inmate to die recently after being in incarcerated in the Sangamon County Jail. A statistic that Sheriff Neil Williamson has, oddly enough, compared to the stock market. "It spikes and then it’s down and then it’s up again."
The issue is that Sangamon County Coroner Susan Boone said she’s not planning to look into Burris’ death. "Actually, most people don’t know what’s going on with these cases. I don’t feel I’ve shirked my duty in any way. It’s not my job to build civil suits for attorneys.”
Sure, that's shocking ... but you know what's curious?
This morning the comments section of this article was full of people criticizing Susan Boone for not initating an autopsy ... let alone refusing to do one at all.
Now ... the comments have been turned off. They've all disappeared and been replaced by a blurb saying, "The Reader Comments feature is not available on this story. Please choose another story on sj-r.com to comment on today's news."
So now, not only are we not supposed to question the death of a person under the watchful eye of the Sangamon County Jail ... but we're also not supposed to discuss it?
I don't know about you ... but none of this sounds right to me.
