I'm just poking my head up for a moment ... a well deserved break from this hellish nightmare they call a college course.
So, I'm surfing around on Boing Boing and You Tube ... two of my favorite online haunts ... and it hits me. Andy Warhol was right all along. Who knew when Andy mused "In the future, everybody will be world famous for 15 minutes" that he had envisioned the Numa Numa guy?
Thanks to shows like VH1's Web Junk, everybody wants to be the next internet sensation. Everybody thinks they're Samberg and Parnell. For instance:
This tool who apparently thinks someone somewhere in the world still loves Pokemon. This video would have been hilarious ... in 1995.
Or this painful Backstreet Boys ripoff. God, it's horrifying that some people have access to video equipment.
And these guys. Damn, somebody needs to hire these guys if for no other reason that they kick ass at synching up music to video clips. On the other hand ... they do seem to have a lot of time on their hands. Dude? Pooh Corner? How obscure ... and cool ... is that?
So ... now (unfortunately ... back to our regularly scheduled program. Eight chapters down ... three to go. Put me in coach ... I'm ready to play.
