Bite My Shiny, Metal Ass

OMIGOD! Have you heard? Have you heard?!

One of the best shows ever has been resurrected! Thirteen new episodes of Futurama are coming to Comedy Central in 2008.

According to eonline.com, Billy West, John DiMaggio, and Katey Sagal have already been signed ... which means we're guaranteed to hear Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Zapp, Zoidberg, Bender, Flexo, and Leela. No word yet on Amy, Hermes, Morbo, Mom, or Nibbler ... but, common ... how could they resist?

So hang on, everybody ... only eighteen more months ... and the joy that is Matt Groening's Futurama will wash over us like an animated comedy tsunami.

"Everybody's a jerk. You, me, this jerk."
"Comedy's a dead art form. Now tragedy, that's funny."
"Tempers are wearing thin ...
let's hope some robot doesn't kill everybody."
"That's no flying saucer! That's my ASS!"

  1. Can you get Comedy Central to pick up Arrested Development? Now that it's gone, all I have left is the Simpsons.

  3. I never watched Arrested Development ... but I heard good things. For what it's worth, they brought back Family Guy because of it's loyal fan base ... and hey ... didn't they bring back Star Trek years ago because of a letter writing campaign?

So let's get out there! Bring back Arrested Development for BlogFreespringfield. We can do this!

One of the posters on another site had a great idea ... HBO should pick it up and it could follow along the lines of Entourage. So send those e-mails right here:

In fact, I'll make you TV types a deal ... bring back Michael Bluth and I, ThirtyWhat, will get the DVDs of all three seasons ... and find out what the fuss is about. Common ... who else is gonna give you that deal???

  4. You should get the AD DVDs regardless. It is a very funny show.

I wish HBO would pick it up, even though I don't subscribe. As long as shows keep getting produced, I can eventually get the DVDs.

If AD does end up on HBO, I hope that they continue to bleep the profanity. For some reason, it just seems funnier to me.

There is one scene when all of the Bluth children are making fun of their alcoholic mother. When it's Buster's turn (the thirty-something baby of the family who is a little too close to mommy but has recently felt betrayed by her)he goes off into a bleep-laced tirade that leaves the other Bluth's slack-jawed. It's a lot funnier to imagine what grossly inappropriate things he said, than to actually hear it.

Anyway, thanks for the grassroots "Save Arrested Development" effort.

  5. I totally understand where you're coming from, Dan ...

The first season of the Osbournes was incredible. It was a hoot watching Ozzy, Sharon, and the kids walking around beeping like crazy.

Fast forward ... the DVDs come out and I BEGGED Mr. ThirtyWhat to get it for me. I couldn't WAIT to hear the entire season totally uncensored.

It was awful. I mean, on MTV it was charming watching Sharon walking around with her British accent and hearing all these little bleeps every few seconds ... but uncensored?

She was just vulgar. Plus, it was disturbing watching her say every filthy word you could imagine in front of and to her kids.

I'm with you, Dan ... sometimes the beeping is a lot more entertaining.
