So, let's assume we're going under the premise that Springfield is better off than it was twenty or thirty years ago. Even so ... nothing's perfect ... and there's always room for improvement.
So what would make Springfield a better place? What would you like to see come to the capitol city?
Waffle House - Covered, smothered, diced, chunked ... we need a Waffle House. Yeah, I'm aware we've just been blessed by the God's with an IHOP ... but since there was a 45 minute wait for a table ... I passed.
White Castle - Now that we have an official U of I campus ... don't we deserve a White Castle? I mean, they're supposed to be a dietary staple of college life, right? Where's my sliders?
Krispy Kreme - Frankly ... I could do without. I'm partial to Mel-O-Cream's Glazed Old Fashions myself ... but this one is for my Mom. She'd go nuts if she could see that "Hot Doughnuts" sign light up right here in Springfield.
Avanti's - Ever been to Avanti's in Bloominton or Peoria? Ever had a Gondola? Then you know why we need one here! They're a really excellent family restaurant ... and really reasonably priced too. What a deal!
Chik-Fil-A - Enough said!
Warner Bros, Disney, or Viacom Store - Apparently we couldn't support Disney in the style to wish they were accustomed to ... however, we need some sort of "niche" gift store in White Oaks.
Suncoast - Remember Suncoast out at White Oaks? I just miss it. Suncoast was one of my favorite places to buy obscure, hard to find movies and such. I guess shopping on the Internet kind of made them obsolete.
A Casino - Um, again ... this suggestion is just for my Mom. Sure, she'd spend more money gambling ... but think of the money she'd save on gas by not driving up to Peoria every other day!
LincolnFest - Damn you, Tim Davlin ... I'm going to bring this up in every possible post until you respond to our demands!
