Ho Ho Ho ... Merry Football Christmas!

I've been told it's Football Christmas.  Today is the first Sunday of NFL football.  Which, as I'm sure you all know means ... well, not a whole lot in my house.  Other than the fact I've spent my last Sunday with Stoney until February.  We've bid our farewells ... and I've tearfully told him I'll wait for him.  Okay, okay ... no tears ... but lots of hugs and kisses.

Stoney's spent this momentous day making homemade chili and preparing for the guys to come over and watch the Cowboys.  I've spent the day getting over an ear infection, doing laundry, doing a little light cleaning, and watching bad movies.  Not fun bad movies ... movies that are just plain bad.

Luckily, one of my favorites just started ... The Shining.  What an amazing, disturbing film ... Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall.   I'd love to sit here and watch the whole thing ... but Breaking Bad comes on at eight.

So ... it's been a quiet day.  My first day as a football widow ...only 3,486 hours until February!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the tree tops glisten
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

  1. I love The Shining! My brother and I used to play with Danny Lloyd when we were kids. We lived in the same Pekin neighborhood :)

  2. He's a Cowboys fan? Red flag, unless he's from Texas. In which case, red flag for being from Texas.

  3. Aw, Scrivener ... I don't know squat about sports ... but I'd think him being a Cardinals fan is a much bigger red flag than his love of the Cowboys. Maybe it's a Central Illinois thing? hahaha :)

I wish I was more like my aunt ... she looooooves football. And NASCAR now that we're talking about it. For what it's worth, I've flipped over to the game a few times just to see if his team was winning ... and they were ... so I thought, "Good for Stoney! Back to Talking Bad!" haha :)

Julie ... YOU got to play with Danny Lloyd?! How cool is that?! Was he a nice kid?? :) I stopped watching the Shining because it was edited (severely) ... I've gotta just buy myself the Blu-ray and call it good! :)
